University Work

From 2017 until the Summer of 2018 I attended the Royal Academy of Art in London, England.

While I had wonderful opportunities to work in the theatre industry, I felt that pursuing an education in a conservatory program where I could master the various fabrication skills was necessary for me to achieve long term success in this field. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art provided me with an experience unlike any other to hone my skills. I began the foundational degree in Technical Theatre and Stage Management (TTSM) program at RADA in September of 2016 and have studied various aspects of technical theater with an emphasis in props making. I completed my degree in July of 2018. As a result, I am trained, and have experience, in many areas of props fabrication, to include sculpting, molding, casting, painting, construction, welding, robotics, and 3-D printing.

While at RADA in London, I had the opportunity to not only fabricate and handle props for large scale theater productions both at RADA and on the West End, but to create, handle and transport props for feature films. Additionally, over an approximately year and a half time period, I had the great opportunity to volunteer at the Props Shop for Lucasfilm at Pinewood Studios, ultimately serving my Secondment/Internship with Lucasfilm in my final term. The experience with the Props Shop gave me the opportunity to not only fabricate props for the Star Wars franchise, but to transport, handle, and store props for The Last Jedi film.
